Camping Cheats Beef and Mushroom Noodles

  • 4 slices cooked beef – sliced from the deli counter is ideal
  • 6-8 mushrooms
  • 2 packs beef flavour instant noodles
  • 2 spring onions

Start the noodles first according to their own instructions and as they are cooking slice the mushrooms very finely and drop them straight into the pan as you go. By the time the noodles are cooked, so will the mushrooms be (as long as you have sliced them finely enough!)

When ready, take off the heat and rip the beef up with your fingers or cut with a knife is you prefer things done properly and once again drop into the pan & stir it all up gently so that the heat from the noodles heats up the beef!

Chop up the spring onions, and sprinkle them on the top before serving

Volia – enjoy your 5 minute wonder meal and relax with a glass of Tiger Beer, knowing you have minimal washing up to do this evening!

If you really cannot abide the idea of using instant noodles, this recipe can easily be made using normal noodles – the dried ones cook in about 4 minutes and the new pre-cooked straight to wok ones take about 2 minutes. For flavouring, you’ll have to add a beef stock cube and some Chinese 5 spice or perhaps purchase one of those handy little ready made Chinese style stir fry sauces.
